Is Your Maggi Fooling You?

Maggi! The name doesn’t need any introduction to any generation. Since more than three decades, Maggi is ruling our hearts and kitchen. It’s now every generation’s favorite food. Even in mountain areas where there cooking cannot be done; trekkers eat magi to feed themselves. So, now when we all know that it’s almost impossible to eradicate Maggi from our lives, do you think what I am thinking?

Yes! I am thinking what you don’t want to think? Mothers are feeding their babies as Maggi lunch, Maggi dinner, Maggi in breakfast, without even thinking twice about how safe it is to eat Maggi as the main course meal?  Even small children of two and three years age, who should be fed a diet rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals  are being served Maggi in main course meals.  Why? Today’s mothers don’t understand the seriousness of this issue?

These children are then fed large vitamin and mineral supplements by their parents for proper growth. They get weakened eyes and pale skin at a very tender age. But, still our young mothers are not ready to understand the depth of this issue. Have you ever thought why only Maggi? Why our kids want Maggi and no other noodles? Is it addiction?

The Solution

The solution was sorted by our government few years back. Maggi was banned in India. This was heartily welcomed by majority of doctors and pediatrics, the only reason being that the children will learn to eat vegetables and cereals in lunch and dinner instead of Maggi.

But, just after a few months, the ban was removed and markets were re-flooded with Maggi products. If our government would have stretched this ban for a year or more than we all would have noticed the change in food habits of our children.

The Bottom Line

I hope all young mothers reading this article to encourage healthy food habits in their children to save them from several diseases. Maggi will never increase their immunity or rather it will reduce their immunity to fight diseases.
