Whenever I visit a school or a
college, I always find children of different age levels, some playing, some
sitting, some dull and some very active. I always notice the great differences
in the energy levels of all children. This thought always disturbs me. I always
wonder why such differences in energy levels of small children. Why our
children are losing interests in physical activities?
I see several girls who are
underweight and dull, whereas, there were many who were overweight. There was
only one thing common in them; they all were busy on their mobiles. Though they
were sitting in groups, but, they were very busy on mobiles rather than
enjoying and talking with the friends.
Mobiles Are Slow Killers
Mobiles are slowly killing our
children’s childhood. Today, kids are not talking or playing but they are only
sitting idle and chatting or watching mobile screens. These increased onscreen
timings are silently killing our young generation
Decreased Immunity and Increased Screen-Time
Today, our disease immunity levels are
decreasing due to increased on-screen time. Our nervous system is badly
affected and such children’s reaction timings are prolonged. They don’t react
to the instincts as quickly as they should. It’s all because they are continuously
watching someone else talking and reacting. So, their impulse to react is not
developing the way it should with age.
Developing Technology is Reducing our Mental Wellness
Today, every day a new electronics
technology is launched thus making our lives more convenient. These developed
technologies make us more dependent and our brain reduces its general practice
of calculating and evaluating. You can easily check a child’s mental wellness,
just ask him simple calculations. His replying speed can justify your query.
Use Technology Without Affecting The Natural Growth Of Children
We should encourage our children
towards sports, cycling, word-power games and other activities where they
should use their mental intellectual abilities. This can be easily managed by
fixing the screen-time for a child. He should be made to include sports and book-reading
habits in his daily routine. This will help in his overall intellectual development.
