Why Only On Valentine's Day?

Why Only On Valentine's Day?

Since last decade, I am continuously observing the Valentine- craze in the youth. Young girls and boys are waiting for this special day to express their love for their beloved. They buy expensive gifts, balloons, and chocolates for each other. Spend a full day with others and try to maintain the zing throughout the day. Our local newspapers are filled with extra leaflets on love-messages and romantic poems. Couples spend beyond limits to impress each other and show their love for each other.

The Whys?

I always wonder, why these young couples and lovey-dovey wait for 365 days to express their love for their Valentine.  Why so much hike on Valentine Day? Where are all these people going after this day? Why the big brands are so much targeted for this day? Why the other days of the year are not equally important to shower love to your buddy?

I always wondered why all of a sudden in this tenure of 10-12 years, Indians are so much diverted towards the western culture. The answer is the marketing stunt and policies of big multi-national companies, who want to sell their expensive products through these events. People see AD’s on TV and the internet and start following blindly. This unawareness of Indian buyers is an asset to these MNC’s. They target these days and manufacture special packaging and limited edition kinds of stuff and several fools around rush to buy these limited edition products. So, now I hereby wanted to educate the youth to use their brains and decide what to buy and what not to buy? Instead of running after limited edition packing they should evaluate the utility and worthy of these products.

The Message

Valentines day gift for husband and wife
A Promis on this Valentine
Dear lovers, you don’t need anyone to express your love and passion. You can show off your love to your beloved on any day and anytime. You don’t need expensive gifts to make her realize your worth, all she/he needs is your time and affection.  So, this Valentine Day, spend time with your lover rather than wasting time and money on the endless competition.
