Did You Had Your Morning Cup Of Yoga?

Today, people are very conscious about their health and fitness. Every third person is active in gym training, yoga or some other exercise like walking or jogging. There are several health clubs running successfully in the town. People are spending a lot on health and maintaining balanced figure. Both men and women are rushing to Dieticians and Beauticians blindly, just to look younger and younger. Everyone is becoming diet conscious, low-calorie food, low-cholesterol diet and so on. Early morning heavy workouts at gym including cardio and weight training are a common routine of most of the people in the city.

There are several benefits of doing Yoga every day. Yoga is beneficial for both physical and mental health. It should be included as ‘morning tea ‘in our daily routines.

·  Yoga relaxes our body and enhances the overall flexibility.
·       It increases the strengthening and toning up of muscles.
·       It cures Back Ache and reduces the chances of Slip Disk.
·  It Cures Arthritis and increases the bone density if continued for longer periods.
·       It cures Carpel Tunnel Syndrome.
·       It relieves Headache and cures Migraine.
·       It cures Insomnia.
·       It cures high blood pressure and maintains the proper functioning of our body.
·       The Breathing exercise in Yoga removes the CO2 from our body and purifies the blood.
·       Regular Yoga training improves the body metabolism and enhances balanced working of all organs.
·       The improved metabolism results in the excess weight reduction from the body.
·       Regular exercising improves Athletic performance.
·       Yoga strengthens our body and reduces the chances if injury and hemorrhages.
·       Yoga releases mental stress and fatigue.
·       It cures depression.
·       In increases the will power and determination.
·       It reduces chronic stress patterns.
In the end, I would suggest that Yoga should be made compulsory a morning cup of tea. This practice will strengthen our youth both physically and mentally.

Low On-Screen Timings= Better Growth of Child

Just a decade ago, parents thought that sharing their gadgets with their children will enhance the mental and intellectual growth of their child. They started buying expensive gadgets for their small children spreading reasons like—‘we gave for security reasons’, ‘we wanted our child to become techno-friendly’ and so on. I just wanted to ask this simple question to these parents, ‘your parents never shared such gadgets with you, so are you dumb? Or are you not capable of using them today when you can easily afford them.
What I feel is that by doing so these people are more showing-off rather than worrying about the child’s security because if they were actually worried about their child’s future they would have postponed this plan.  There are several disadvantages of increased on-screen timings. The most dangerous one’s are:-

·       Obesity.
Obesity is one of the biggest problem in the developed and developing countries. Children are busy playing indoor video games and chatting on mobiles instead of playing on grounds.

·       Lack of attention.
Due to increasedon-screen time, the children are becoming less reactive and more dull.

·       Sleeplessness.
Children often become addictive of these mobile and video games thus start suffering from sleeplessness.

·       Low Mental Growth.
Due to lack of sleep and rest mind gets tired and this results in the decreased mental and intellectual growth.

·       Aggressiveness.
This is one of the most dangerous effects on increased on-screen time. In this the child becomes very short-tempered if his wishes are not fulfilled quickly.

·       Lack of Interest in Education.
These children lose interest in studies and are always thinking about new ways to avoid studies and spend more and more time on their gadgets.
·       Lack of Interest in Sports.
Such children don’t want to mix with other children and believe in spending more and more time with their gadgets.

Holi: The Festival of Forgiveness

Holi, is celebrated every year on Poonam (Full-Moon Day). One day before Holi, is celebrated as victory of “Good” over “Evil”. It also signifies the arrival of Spring and end of winters. This festival is celebrated to rebond with old friends and forgive each other. It symbolizes a fresh and new start of healthy relationships with colors, laughter and playful manner.

In villages our farmers burn Holika and submit the new harvest of wheat to goddess Holika as the thanksgiving of good harvest. This “Holika Dahan” is done one night before “dhulandi”. Holika was the sister of demon King Hiranyakashyap. Her sister was blessed that if she wears a shawl given by gods, she will not be burned or affected by fire. Prahalad was his son and was an ardent follower of Lord Vishnu. The king hated his son so he tells his sister Hollika to take Prahalad in her arms and sit on a fire bed to punish Prahalad. But as soon as Hiranyakashyap sets fire the holy shawl was taken away by wind and the Hollika dies due to burning and Prahalad was left unaffected and saved by Lord Vishnu. Then Lord Vishnu takes the avatar of “Narsimha” and kills Hiranyakashyap.

Since then, Hollika is burnt every year and next day is celebrated as Holi, the festival of colors, forgiveness and victory of Good over Evil. Dhulandi is widely celebrated in India and Nepal. But it is also celebrated in United States, Canada, Jamaica and several other countries with Indian population.

On this day, people roam in groups and carry drums and other musical instruments to dance and play Holi with everyone in the city.  People visit their enemies today and play colors with them.
Children throw colored water filled balloons and play with colors. They spray colored water on each other with water-guns commonly known as “Pichkari”. Several snacks are prepared at home for the celebration. People eat Gujiya, Chakli and khopra barfi etc. we all should celebrate this festival forgiving and forgetting all grudges and disputes.
