Take a Break on This Mother’s Day

Throughout the day 24/7, irrespective of Day or Night, Sunday or Monday, a mother is the one who is working non-stop for her children without a leave. As the Mother's Day is approaching, the whole family has started planning the best gift for me. My husband escorting my kids is in full mood to take me high with the best plans ever. Every day I can listen their whispers in the living room, sometimes it’s a discussion over a family dinner date, and other times its about some gift which I would appreciate. But, most of the times its fun and frolic during making plans and discussing ‘secrets’ with their ‘hero’, their father.

But, What I wanted to say is them today is ‘On this Mothers Day I want A Break’, a break from everything I do every day for everyone. I wanted to ‘Be alone on this Mothers Day. I just wanted to be with myself---spend time down the memory-lane----running and playing with my siblings, sleeping on the couch till noon, eating what I loved instead of what is good, and above all I wanted to spend time with ‘Myself’.

But, this is a wish, I doubt they will ever let me fulfill. They might not take it positively because they again wanted to make my day special with me doing the same tasks I do it for them every day. They don’t want their comfort zones to be disturbed. But, today I want all my readers to know that we ‘mothers’ know that we are blessed with the most loving family and the most caring children. But on this big day all we need is ‘peace of mind’ for at least a day. All that we need is a break from tedious routines and monotonous daily chores.

The Bottom Line
So on this Mother’s Day, please arrange a full day holiday for your mothers and let them be themselves for at least 24 hours. Leave them with their friends and let them spend full day like a princess, because this is the ‘Real She’ before you all came in her life.

Vacations : An Investment

As the April is coming to an end, the craze of summer vacations is hiking among school children and parents. The children are highly excited about the vacations after the long 10 months of school days. Even mothers are very cheerful as they are planning to escape from their monotonous routines for few days. I think we all love ‘short naps’, because these short naps or breaks or holidays always energize us and prepare us to work harder and concentrate more when we are back to work.

These breaks are very necessary in life. I call as ‘my time’, these ‘my time’ breaks always give us a time to evaluate and search for the right options. Often after such breaks we realize the true value of friends, relations and several other quick decisions we take in life. Just like children, adults also need a short break from routine jobs and monotonous lifestyle. The lack of these breaks makes us irritable and frustrated.

I always noticed the behavioral patterns of school children in the month of October, January, May and then July. These behavioral patterns give me answers to all the major issues of life. Even you can check their moods and behaviors and can apply to your day-to-day problems. You will find all your answers.

Yes! So whenever in life you land up in some problem….just take a ‘break away’, ‘a small nap’…or just go away from the scene… I am very sure you’ll find answer to all your queries. You will return with a big smile, just the way your kids return home or school after a vacation. Children are anxiously waiting for the school to open, why? Because, they are relaxed and are prepared to face new class, new syllabus and a new challenge happily. So, whenever, in stress or confusion, just plan a vacation, a break for the child within you.

Low On-Screen Timings= Better Growth of Child

Just a decade ago, parents thought that sharing their gadgets with their children will enhance the mental and intellectual growth of their child. They started buying expensive gadgets for their small children spreading reasons like—‘we gave for security reasons’, ‘we wanted our child to become techno-friendly’ and so on. I just wanted to ask this simple question to these parents, ‘your parents never shared such gadgets with you, so are you dumb? Or are you not capable of using them today when you can easily afford them.
What I feel is that by doing so these people are more showing-off rather than worrying about the child’s security because if they were actually worried about their child’s future they would have postponed this plan.  There are several disadvantages of increased on-screen timings. The most dangerous one’s are:-

·       Obesity.
Obesity is one of the biggest problem in the developed and developing countries. Children are busy playing indoor video games and chatting on mobiles instead of playing on grounds.

·       Lack of attention.
Due to increasedon-screen time, the children are becoming less reactive and more dull.

·       Sleeplessness.
Children often become addictive of these mobile and video games thus start suffering from sleeplessness.

·       Low Mental Growth.
Due to lack of sleep and rest mind gets tired and this results in the decreased mental and intellectual growth.

·       Aggressiveness.
This is one of the most dangerous effects on increased on-screen time. In this the child becomes very short-tempered if his wishes are not fulfilled quickly.

·       Lack of Interest in Education.
These children lose interest in studies and are always thinking about new ways to avoid studies and spend more and more time on their gadgets.
·       Lack of Interest in Sports.
Such children don’t want to mix with other children and believe in spending more and more time with their gadgets.
